Becoming Holistically
Aligned….

Growing up in the Caribbean I have always felt a deep resounding connection to nature. By embracing the natural state of sustainable living I grew to love being a child of the wilderness. Eventually I moved to New York which was a welcome delight as it offered me many opportunities. I discovered much joy in exploring city life whilst getting caught up with the hustle and bustle of being on the go. My desire to do it all grew and grew till I found myself working long hours, running to school after work and on the weekends….scrambling to find time for connection and fun. Too often I was eating on the go, not eating at times and other times eating to assuage an array of emotions, relying on stimulants to get me through the day. At some point in time, I realized I didn’t have balance in my life. I was being pulled in too many directions which left me unhappy, emotionally drained, burnt out with gut health issues, hormonal imbalance (estrogen dominance and eventually adrenal fatigue) . Stress never entered my mind as I didn’t think what I was experiencing was related to stress, I just thought it was unhappiness, unfulfillment. I came to realize that as a working woman there are many expectations placed on ourselves, whether it be by society or what we think we have to accomplish. This leaves us drained and feeling incomplete.

unhappiness, unfulfillment. I came to realize that as a working woman there are many expectations placed on ourselves, whether it be by society or what we think we have to accomplish. This leaves us drained and feeling incomplete. With the burden of never ending to do lists, emotional eating, surge of environmental toxins, societal pressures, raising a family and working, trauma, unhealthy relationships; tending to ailing or elderly family members, we tend to put our health on the back burner ignoring signs and symptoms of imbalance. Fast forward to present day….I decided to leave the intense, chaotic legal world to enter the field of holistic health and wellness. I invested as much time and energy that I could muster to study and learn about Ayurveda, functional nutrition, hormones (endocrine system), nervous system, gut health, the energy body and stress management techniques. I was determined to not allow my hormonal issues and unmanaged stress set me on a trajectory towards a dire outcome. I embarked on a journey of cultivating a balanced life with proper nutrition, movement, healthy detoxification (physically, mentally and environmentally), grounding and taking time to focus on who and what really mattered to me. My East Indian background allowed me to return to traditions and practices that were utilized by my grandmothers for nurturing the body when I was a child. I started to feel aligned with a sense of purpose by connecting to the wisdom of my body through meditation and spirituality. In doing so I rewrote the vision I had for my future. The body has an innate ability to heal itself naturally…being attuned to that is key to the path of becoming whole again. As I navigate the perimenopausal chapter of my life, I welcome the changes in my hormones knowing that I have the tools needed to create balance and maintain resiliency. It has always been a dream of mine to work with women in a healing capacity, because as a woman I can relate to so many areas of concern. Armed with the knowledge, resources and experience I have garnered from my journey of tackling hormonal issues and stress towards a balanced life, I am able to help other working women do the same. Now is your chance to commit to the change you want to see in your life so that you can achieve hormonal balance and manage your stress. If you are ready, I’d like to invite you to book a free discovery call where I’ll discuss the steps you can take to make this much needed change towards becoming whole again.
